Pupils from Logie Primary School have spent the past few weeks practising their skipping skills in preparation for a “Jump
Off” due to be held tomorrow, Thursday 17th March.
In the lead up to the event, children have learnt a variety of games and tricks using the colourful ropes and activity cards
provided by the British Heart Foundation. It is hoped that the Jump Off itself, which will involve the whole school, will
raise money for the British Heart Foundation as well as being great fun and getting everybody’s heart beating a little bit
faster!
Local Active Schools Co-ordinator, Jo Kirkman said, “I have been visiting the school at lunchtimes to help the children perfect
their skipping skills. I have been really impressed by the pupils’ enthusiasm - its great to see pupils from P1 to P7 working
together, trying out new tricks and skills and getting active. I am sure that skipping will continue to be a popular playtime
activity after the Jump Off has taken place”.
