Moray Childcare Partnership - Childcare Training Prospectus
Date -10 Jun 2005 Return to previous page

Moray Childcare Partnership has launched their new Autumn Childcare Training Prospectus offering free training to all registered childcare providers in Moray.

This is the third Childcare Training Prospectus and is being sent to all registered childminders and registered childcare providers in Moray offering them an opportunity to learn new skills or brush up on old ones.

After the success of last year’s Training Prospectus, the Moray Childcare Partnership have decided to breakdown the annual prospectus into 3 seasonal ones instead, to allow more training opportunities.  Moray Childcare Partnership has expanded training in areas of high demand such as Behaviour Disorders in Children, Marketing, TOPS Outdoor and Food Hygiene.

New courses on Baking with Children, Planning, Producing and Presenting at Christmas, and Costume and set Design have been made available after consultation with candidates last year and it is hoped that the wide and interesting variety of courses will provide something for everyone.

The Prospectus has been produced by the Moray Childcare Partnership team members including the Scottish Child Minding Association, NHS Grampian, the Moray Council and the Care Commission.

The training is to be provided at various venues throughout Moray from September 2005 until November 2005.  A variety of daytime, evening and weekend courses have been scheduled in order that as many people as possible will have the opportunity to benefit from the broad range of professional expertise which has been tapped into by the Moray Childcare Partnership.

Like last year, the courses are booked on a ‘first come first served’ basis, however, the courses are designed to accommodate as many people as possible.  The Autumn Prospectus will provide 180 free training places across 11 different courses, reflecting the demand in Moray for high quality and varied childcare training.

Ruth Herrington, Development Officer with Moray Childcare Partnership said about this prospectus, “By responding to the feedback and comments of the candidates on last years training courses we have been able to tailor this prospectus even more closely to the needs of the childcare providers in Moray.  This prospectus helps to fill the gaps in provision of vital childcare qualifications and also provides courses that will help to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of the children”.

This years calendar competition was entitled ‘Fab Friends’ and the winning entries are featured on the calendar that is included with the prospectuses.
