Environmental Improvements
Date -10 Aug 2005 Return to previous page

The Moray Council are again inviting applications for environmental improvement grants from community groups in Moray.  The Community Environmental Improvement Fund is available for community groups throughout all of Moray to apply to.

Projects eligible for funding should primarily be aimed at improving the image of areas, hard and soft landscaping, recreational footpaths, biodiversity, interpretation, tourism signage, projects supporting sustainable development and community forests.  Projects should give particular attention to community regeneration and safety objectives and may include lighting, street furniture, road and pavement design, recreation provision, signage, art, and nature conservation.

Councillor Eddie Coutts, Convener of the Moray Council said, “This is the fourth year the Council has made this Fund available.  The financial assistance offered was well received in the last three years and I hope that it will again be regarded as another welcome opportunity for community groups to apply for funding for local environmental projects.  The Council hopes that these funds will assist with the delivery of a number of local projects which may not have otherwise been possible to achieve”.

Application forms and further information is available from Gary Templeton, Planning Officer on 01343 563470 or on the Council website at www.moray.gov.uk.  The closing date for applications is the 2nd September 2005.
