Moray Development Plan Review

On Monday 22nd August 2005 the Moray Council will be publishing the Moray Development Plan Review for public consultation.  The Plan sets out the proposed future framework for development in Moray. The Development Plan Review Consultative Draft covers all of the Moray area excluding the Cairngorms National Park.

The Plan consists of the Moray Structure Plan Review which sets the context for new Development over the next 15-20 years, and the Moray Local Plan Review that sets out the detailed proposals for development over the next five years along with indications of potential longer term development.  The Plan is expected to be in place by early 2007 once it has been through formal consultation procedures. The Consultative Draft of the Development Plan Review will be subject to public comment.  It will be available for public inspection at the Council’s Access Points and Libraries, and on the internet at www.moray.gov.uk.  The consultation period runs for six weeks from 22nd August, with all comments to be returned by 3rd October for further consideration by the Council.

As part of the consultation process, a series of drop-in public exhibitions are being held across the area between 3.00 p.m. and 8.00 p.m.   The exhibitions are being held at:

            Fleming Hall, Aberlour            Tuesday 30th August

            Longmore Hall, Keith              Wednesday 31st August

            Forres Town Hall                    Thursday 1st September

            Elgin Community Centre          Monday 5th September

            Buckie Community Centre       Tuesday 6th September

            Lossiemouth Town Hall            Wednesday 7th September
