Moray Council's new contact centre is proving a success after just a few months in business.
Staff at the Elgin centre celebrated receiving its 10,000th call from a customer this week.
The lucky caller, Alison Sharman, of Lossiemouth, was presented with a bouquet of flowers from the council to mark the milestone.
The Customer Contact Centre was set up in September as part of the local authority's corporate initiative to improve service delivery for customers, and plans are already being made to expand the service.
The revenues service is the first department to become integrated into the centre, dealing with inquiries about council tax and housing benefits.
Customer services manager Donald Callum said they hoped to expand its role over the next 12 months by incorporating more council departments into the service.
He said: "Eventually, people will be able to contact one number for a range of services and get all their inquiries answered."
The centre is manned by six members of staff, and anyone with inquiries can contact 01343 563456 or e-mail revenues@moray.gov.uk .
The centre is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8.45am until 5pm and from 10am until 5pm on Tuesdays.
