Moray Council’s blueprint for building development over the next five years, the Local Plan, has undergone a series of modifications.
The Local Plan is the council’s planning document that contains planning policies and designates land for development.
These latest modifications arose from the 700 objections and observations received from the public and other bodies upon the publication of the finalised version of the plan. At a recent meeting of the Environmental Services Committee, members agreed to make changes in response to the objections that had been received.
The changes include the re-introduction of an industrial site at Rosehall, Keith; the removal of land at Newton of Struthers; re-instatement of Lintmill Nursery as a rural community; changes to the settlement boundary in Rothes.
Public consultation is a fundamental part of the Plan’s development, and the public have a further opportunity to comment on these modifications before they become council policy. Any objections which cannot be resolved will be considered by a Public Local Inquiry, which commences on November 13th
Anyone wishing to object to these latest modifications must do so by October 26th.
