Hotel closure order lifted
Date -13 Dec 2007 Return to previous page

Moray councillors have agreed to lift a closure order imposed on a Cullen hotel two months ago.

Members of Moray Licensing Board ordered the closure of the Grant Arms Hotel in October after being told the owners had failed to bring it up to a suitable standard for guests.

Ian Fraser and his wife, Fiona, claimed they had been unable to carry out the necessary improvements to the letting bedrooms until work was completed on the installation of a new fire alarm system.

But the board accused the couple of delaying tactics and ordered the hotel’s closure.

Today councillors were told that all the necessary works had now been completed satisfactorily and the board agreed to revoke the closure order.
