Ten candidates are to contest the Elgin South by-election on Moray Council on February 14.
They are James Allan (Independent), Andy Anderson (Scottish Senior Citizens Unity Party), Frank Brown (Scottish Conservative
and Unionist), Mark Cascarino (Scottish Labour), Gordon Davidson (Independent), Matthew Desmond (UKIP Scotland), Martyn Harris
(Independent), Peter Horton (Scottish Liberal Democrats), John Sharp (SNP) and Hamish Simpson (Independent).
The vacancy was caused by the death last month of the council’s depute convener, Councillor Alastair Bisset.
