Tomintoul over 60s to be consulted on services
Date -11 Mar 2008 Return to previous page

People over 60 in the Tomintoul area are to be given the opportunity to have a say on the provision of services for their age group.

An open day is to be held in the Richmond Hall from 10am to 12.30pm on Wednesday, March 26 to which all over 60s living in and around the village are invited.

The event is being staged by the Moray Health and Social Care Partnership to find out what gaps there may be for older people in terms of services.

There will be the chance to speak with representatives from a number of organisations including Moray Council community services, Age Concern Scotland, the Pension Service and Moray Carers.

Other interests which will be represented include health improvement, community safety, trading standards, transport and community learning and development.

There will also be a questionnaire for people to fill in and the feedback will help the partnership to respond to the wishes of the over 60s.

Jane Mackie, lead system manager with the partnership, said: "Over 60s represent an increasingly large section of the population and it is important that the services that are provided are in tune with what they require.

"The open day will allow us to get information at first hand and we look forward to hearing what older people in the Tomintoul area would like to see in terms of service provision."
