SportMoray has organised an excellent network evening for local sports clubs in the area for Thursday 29 May. The evening will take place at Moray College in Elgin from 6.30pm. All the workshops and sessions are free of charge and we are encouraging all local sports clubs to bring as many representatives as possible to the evening.
The evening will include a funding surgery, sportscoach UK Child Protection course, club accreditation workshop, coach scholarship scheme information, a disclosure session and many more interesting topics. There will also be an opportunity for local sports clubs to meet their Active School Co-ordinator to discuss the benefits of developing school-club links and how to go about this.
Clubs attending this evening will receive a ClubCAP commitment certificate which is the first stage in achieving Club Accreditation. A number of the workshops organised would normally cost £25 per candidate to attend but for this evening sportMoray will be covering all costs. This evening will be a great opportunity for local sports club members to broaden their knowledge, develop their club and be made aware of all the possibilities available to make their club even more effective.
David McConachie, Chair of sportMoray, commented “This Club Network evening is a first for this kind of event organised by sportMoray. One of sportMoray’s main aims is to provide sports clubs and organisations the opportunity to meet, discuss and assist them in the development of their activities and this is an ideal event to ensure this happens. The workshops and sessions organised are relevant to all local sports clubs and groups including funding, disclosures, child protection, volunteering and best practice in relation to warm-ups and stretching.”
