Date -14 May 2008 Return to previous page

Members of Moray Council today observed a minute’s silence in honour of former long-serving councillor Roma Hossack, who died earlier this month at the age of 70.

Mrs Hossack served on Elgin Town Council, Moray District Council and Grampian Regional Council and was a member of Moray Council from 2003 to 2007.

Speaking at today’s meeting of the full council, convener Councillor George McIntyre said Mrs Hossack was admired and respected by all who knew her.

SNP group leader Councillor Pearl Paul described Mrs Hossack as a “very caring person” who always put people first, while Councillor Iain Young, leader of the Conservative group, said she was a person of very high principles who was known for her dedication to public service.
