A seminar will be held in Elgin later this month at which local community groups can find out how to enter the popular People’s Millions competition.
The Big Lottery has teamed up with ITV for a fifth year to run the competition in which viewers have the chance to vote on projects designed to transform or enhance local environments.
Both the Moray Arts Centre at Findhorn and the Lossiemouth Heritage Association’s project to upgrade St James’s Square have already been successful in winning funding through the competition.
The Big Lottery is particularly interested in supporting community-based projects which encourage the involvement of local people.
The competition is open to a wide range of groups, including charities, voluntary and community organisations and public bodies, with grants of up to £50,000 available.
The seminar will take place at the Laichmoray Hotel on Monday, March 23 from 1.30pm to 4pm.
Places must be booked by calling Jill Cameron on 01343 563347 by March 19.
