Teenage actors wanted

Date Added - 20/03/09

A call has gone out for budding young actors to join an Elgin drama group for a forthcoming production.

The group is currently working on Knife, a drama which examines why some young people carry knives.

They originally came together last autumn for a production of Fleeto, which also focused on knife culture, and since then they have continued to meet weekly to work on their own drama.

It is planned to take Knife into local secondary schools at the end of June and possibly to a festival of youth theatre in London in July.

The group is now looking for a few additional male actors aged 14 to 18. They meet at Elgin Community Centre on Wednesday at 5pm and an extra all-day session is planned for Thursday, April 9.

Anyone interested in joining should contact Moray Council arts development worker Emma Sharpe on 01343 557144
