Three applications to build a total of 763 new homes in Moray have been approved by councillors.
The decisions will see 706 houses built in Elgin and 57 in Lossiemouth.
Moray Council's planning and regulatory services committee gave Robertson Homes and Scotia Homes the go-ahead for 435 houses and flats at Spynie, on the northern outskirts of Elgin.
The committee also approved an application from Barratts for 271 homes at Thornhill Road on the opposite side of town.
Plans for a 57-house development at Inchbroom Road in Lossiemouth were also approved.
A decision on the application by Tullochs of Cummingston had been deferred earlier in the year to address the issue of affordable housing as part of the development.
However, councillors were told that the company had now agreed to provide the requisite number of affordable houses on another site which they own in Lossiemouth.
The committee agreed to give director of environmental services Bob Stewart delegated powers to ratify final approval subject to an appropriate legal agreement between the council and the developers.
