Forres photographer Les Hester will launch an exhibition featuring black-and-white portraits of local lassies in the town’s Falconer Museum on Saturday.
The exhibition, which is being staged in partnership with Moray Council’s museums service, includes around 30 portrait photographs of some of the best-known female faces in Forres.
It complements a similar exhibition held 18 months ago in the museum’s mezzanine gallery to celebrate Mr Hester’s 30 years as a professional photographer in Forres by portraying some well-known personalities from public life in and around the town.
Senior museums officer Alasdair Joyce said: “We are delighted to welcome Les Hester back to the museum for a second exhibition. His last one sparked a lot of interest in the Forres community.
“It is an opportunity, through the medium of photography, to come face-to-face with local people. Some we maybe know quite well already, others we perhaps only know by name from the local press.
“We are always delighted to work with partners in our community in this way. The museum offers a stimulating and flexible exhibition space and I would be pleased to hear from any organisation with ideas for showcasing our local culture and heritage.”
Mr Hester said he was more the delighted to display the photographs of local girls.
“I take this opportunity to thank all those who have allowed me to capture just a moment of their time.
“The refurbishment of the Falconer Museum makes it an ideal venue to showcase these pictures and I am most grateful to Moray Council’s museums service for their support and for affording me this opportunity.”
Admission to the museum, which is open from 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, is free and the exhibition runs until September 12.
