Craigellachie Playpark Shortlisted for People's Millions Lottery Funding

Date Added - 23/11/09

Earlier this year a group of parents from Craigellachie gained approval from Moray Council to develop a children’s play park in the Brickfield Road area of the village. Since then the residents have started a campaign to raise the funds necessary to buy the equipment.

Having submitted an application, supported by the Craigellachie Village Council, to the People’s Millions Lottery the group have received news that their play park project has been shortlisted and will appear on ITV on 26th November.

The People’s Millions Lottery prize is up to £50,000. The programme format is regional and over a number of evenings shorts films will be broadcast on the 6pm ITV regional news programmes and viewers get the chance to vote for the ones they think should receive funding. On each night two projects go ‘head-to-head’ in a public vote and the project winning the most votes out of the pair will be declared that day’s winner. There will also be a bonus award in each region which will be offered to the project that scored the most votes during the week but did not win a head-to-head vote.

So please, please pick up your telephones on 26th November and give support to this local Moray project.
