Countryside Housing Consultation

Date Added - 16/11/09

A public consultation is being carried out by Moray Council on draft supplementary planning guidance for proposals for housing in the countryside.

The consultation got under way today and will continue until Christmas Eve.

Once approved, the supplementary guidance will be used to help determine all planning applications for new houses and renovations and conversions of exiting houses in the countryside.

The document supplements the Moray Local Plan policies and provides guidance on the siting, location and design aspects of housing in a rural environment.

The draft supplementary guidance is available to view on the council’s website at www.moray.gov.uk and at local libraries, access points and council headquarters in Elgin. All comments must be submitted by the December 24 deadline.

Following the consultation period, comments will be collated, considered and reported to a future meeting of the council’s planning and regulatory services committee.
