A team from Cullen Primary emerged as winners of the Get Moray Reading inter-school book quiz following a closely contested final at Elgin library.

It was the second year in a row that the school had taken the title.

Forty-five teams from 29 primaries across Moray took part in the annual event, with the area winners – Cullen, East End, Hopeman, Knockando and Kinloss – qualifying for the final.

All five finalists displayed extensive book and general knowledge over 10 rounds of testing questions, with Cullen just edging our Hopeman and Knockando.

Prizes to all the finalists were donated by Elliott Office Equipment with the books for the winning team being sponsored by Yeadon’s of Elgin.

The prizes were presented by Councillor Anne Skene, chairman of Moray Council’s children and young people’s services committee.

The members of the winning Cullen team were captain Anna Campbell, Iain Fraser, Ewan McKelvie and Jennifer Walker.
