Ballot papers will be dropping onto doormats over the next few days for those who have opted to vote by post in the forthcoming Moray Council by-election for the Heldon and Laich ward.
More than 1700 postal votes have been issued for the by-election which takes place on Thursday, March 7.
Returning officer Mark Palmer advised postal voters to make sure they read and follow the instructions carefully before completing their ballot paper.
“Don’t forget to include your date of birth and signature on the postal voting statement,” he said. “This statement is kept separately from your ballot paper so your vote is always secret. Follow the instructions in the pack to make sure your vote counts.
“As soon as you have completed your ballot paper and postal vote statement, post them in the envelope and return it to ensure it is received in good time.”
Postal ballot papers must be received by 10pm on March 7. Anyone missing the post can hand in their postal vote at any polling station.
