Elgin High opened in August 1978. The school is a 6 year non-denominational comprehensive school with pupils mainly from south Elgin and the adjoining rural areas or Longmorn, Birnie and Miltonduff. In May 1996 Kestrel House was opened as an annex to the school for a small number of pupils with profound and complex learning difficulties.
