FOI Request - Prevent Duty Guidance - Review
I would like to request that review is held into the initial response to my FOI request, your ref: 101000375312
It is inappropriate to apply a section 30 exemption to this request, as there is a considerable public interest in understanding how the local authority is implementing the PREVENT guidance locally.
I trust that you will reconsider your decision and release the information I requested as soon as is practically possible.
Following your request for a review of our response to the FOI you submitted, this was held at the council offices yesterday October 7th. In attendance were the council’s principal solicitor, the emergency planning and resilience officer, and myself.
In advance of the review meeting the emergency planning officer had discussed release of information as requested in parts 1 and 2 of your FOI with Police Scotland and the Home Office. These two organisations are the owners of the information. Both organisations have refused permission for the council to release their information. Therefore we are unable to release this to you and consider it exempt under section 31 (1)-(3), safeguarding of national security.
For your question 3, we can confirm that 71 staff members have received training materials in the last 36 months.
Question 4, there have been nil referrals.
Question 5, we have no reports.
Question 6, that information is not held and is therefore exempt under Section 17 of the FOI(S)A.
Question 7, the council has received no funding.
