Taxi or Private Hire
Please note that if you are considering lodging an application:
- The Council Contact Centre can take telephone payments at present but this may change.
- The Council is still accepting applications but these may take slightly longer to process as many staff are working from home in line with the current Government guidance and have limited time in the office. Essential staff are maintaining a skeleton service or being redeployed to areas of urgent need,
- We ask that you please lodge your application and payment as remotely as possible and check our web pages for updated guidance re: Covid 19 regulations. The Council will continue to work with a skeleton office staff for as long as the Scottish Government Guidance advises. This currently means only 1/3rd of the team are permitted in the office at any one time.
Please be assured we will resume normal service as soon as possible.

QUEENS JUBILEE BANK HOLIDAY CHANGES
The announcement of an additional bank holiday on June 3rd 2022, to celebrate the Queen's platinum Jubilee There will be a change in the dates that Taxi Firms can charge the bank holiday surcharge here in Moray. May 30th 2022 will no longer be a bank holiday and June 2nd 2022 and June 3rd 2022 will become Bank Holidays.
Taxi Firms will be updating their meters to remove the Bank Holiday surcharge from the May 30th date and have it changed to June 2nd and June 3rd.
( C ) For each hiring between 7.00 a.m. and 12 midnight on Sundays and Bank Holidays a surcharge of £1.50 applies

Communications Strategy Taxi/Private Hire Licensing Approved
Following consultation with various Stakeholders, the Licensing Committee, at its meeting on 10 October, approved a Communications Strategy setting out how communications will be undertaken over the next few years to support work in Taxi/Private Hire Licensing.
