FOI Request - Children (Scotland) Act 1995

Request 101001289599

It is my understanding that under the Children Act 1989 and Children (Scotland) Act 1995 that it is a council's legal responsibility to care for under 18s who arrive by themselves in their council area from abroad, seeking international protection i.e unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (or a UASC)

Within this context, please tell me:

1. For the financial year 2016/17 (as of 25 August 2016) how many UASC's have been registered with your council? If possible, please also give me a breakdown by age, gender and nationality

2. For the financial year 2016/17 (as of 25 August 2016) how many UASC have disappeared from , or are currently missing from the council area? For each year please provide a breakdown of age, gender and nationality

3. For the financial year 2016/17 (as of 25 August 2016) for each UASC (a) registered or (b) missing, please provide any redacted materials related to these cases i.e emails and reports from relevant staff members

4. For the financial year 2016/17 (as of 25 August 2016)what was (a) the budget alloted for the care of UASC and (b) the actual amount spent? If possible, please break this down i.e psychological treatment, translation services, accommodation etc

5. For the financial year 2016/17 (as of 25 August 2016) how many social workers (trained to work with UASC's) did the council have on staff

6. For the financial year 2016/17 (as of 25 August 2016) how many times did the council contact police over concerns UASCs may have been trafficked?
