FOI Request - Housing Benefit Suspensions - Local Authority and RSL Tenancies

With regard to Housing Benefit claims processed by your council (including claims for Local Housing Allowance for private rented sector), I am looking to establish how many of these claims are suspended and the reasons foi those suspensions.  Specifically I am looking for:

1. The number of Housing Benefit claims which apply to a tenancy a local authority or registered social landlord tenancy:
a) That have been suspended:
o since the start of financial year 15/16
- Broken down by month
• Due to a notification from the DWP of change of circumstances
     o The number of those claims which include one or more child
     o The number of those claims which include a disabled individual
• Due to a notification of a change of circumstances from a third party (other than the DWP) or the client
     o The number of those claims which include one or more child
     o The number of those claims which include a disabled individual
b) That have been reinstated once further information has been received from the client:
o since the start of financial year 15/16
- Broken down by month
• Reinstated following a suspension caused by a notification from the DWP of change of circumstances
     o The number of those claims which include one or more child
     o The number of those claims which include a disabled individual
• Reinstated following a suspension caused by a notification of a change of circumstances from a third party (other than the DWP) or the client
     o The number of those claims which include one or more child
     o The number of those claims which include a disabled individual

2. Where the information already exists (i.e. in members briefings, committee reports, or other internal reports) analysis or audit relating to the processing a housing benefit change of circumstances which includes:
i. The length of time it takes to suspend a claim following change of circumstances
ii. The cost of processing that suspension of a claim following change of circumstances
iii. The length of time it takes to reinstate a suspended claim following a change of circumstances
iv. The cost of processing that reinstatement  following change of circumstances
v. The number of attempts to contact a client to reinstate a suspended claim following a change of circumstances
vi. The cost of making attempts to contact a client to reinstate a claim following a change of circumstances
If that information does not already exist, please supply details of any audit of revenue and benefits processing conducted by the authority.

1) This information is exempt under Section 12 (i) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 due to excessive cost
