•The number of potholes the local authority has repaired, broken down by year since January 2012.•The cost incurred through repairs of potholes, broken down by year since January 2012.
•Compensation paid out by the local authority as a result of pothole damage, broken down by year since January 2012.

  1. This information is not held (and is therefore exempt under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002).  The closest data we have is the number of works instructions that were raised each year to repair carriageway defects :-
  • 2012  -  2522
  • 2013  -  2855
  • 2014  -  2709
  • 2015  -  4176
  • 2016  -  4435
  • 2017 (up to 12/02/17) – 359

It should be noted that each of these instructions may include the repair of several carriageway defects, and also that only some of these defects will be potholes.
