FOI Request Noise Complaints (2)

Request 101001433043

1. Can you please provide figures for the total number of recorded noise complaints for the past year in the council area?
2. Can you provide a list of locations (either specific addresses, street names or neighbourhoods) where these complaints were reported?
3. Can you specify details of these complaints in terms of what was causing the noise?
4. For each complaint, can you provide details of how the incident was handled by environmental health officers, if police were called and whether there was any retaliation from the subjects of complaints?
5. Can you state how many times environmental health officers were called out to each address?

Response 03-03-2017

1. Information is in a spreadsheet Here

2. Town level has been provided.  As the number of complaints is so small, more detailed information may allow identification of individual complainers / offenders which would breach any individual's Data Protection rights. It is therefore exempt under Section 38 of the Act.

3. See spreadsheet in Question 1.

4. Environmental Health Officers do not attend domestic noise calls.   Community Wardens and the Housing Liaison Officer attend to domestic noise complaints.  These are complaints made directly to Moray Council and whilst occasionally Police do attend calls at the same address either before or after Council involvement, we do not record Police attendance.

5. Environmental Health Officers do not attend domestic noise calls.   Community Wardens and Housing Officers attend to domestic noise complaints.  Attendance is retrospective as Moray Council do not have a Noise Team.  The number of times a complaint is attended varies with each complaint with some requiring more than one visit to resolve the matter.  These are complaints made directly to Moray Council and whilst occasionally Police do attend calls at the same address either before or after Council involvement, we do not record Police attendance.
