1. Under the new Government’s funding reforms for training apprenticeships, how much has your local authority contributed to the apprenticeship levy for this financial year 2017/2018?

2. As part of the Government’s new funding reforms, it is our understanding that the Scottish Government is committed to the expansion of work-based learning opportunities through Foundation, Modern and Graduate Level Apprenticeships.  Please can you state which of the following apprenticeship programmes is available by your local authority and state the apprentice full time weekly Pay for each where applicable:
1) Foundation Apprenticeships (A work-based learning opportunity for senior-phase secondary school pupils and lasting two years). Please state the subject(s).
2) Modern Apprenticeship level:
I. Modern apprenticeship (SVQ Level 2 and 3)
II. Technimcal apprenticeship (SVQ Level 4)
III. Professional Apprenticeship (SVQ Level 5)

3. It is our understanding that by the end of 2017, nine of Scotland’s universities and colleges will be delivering Graduate Level Apprenticeships. Is your local authority planning to offer Graduate Level Apprenticeships to existing employees?

1.The Council's contribution for the period 1 April to 30 September 2017 is £262,000.

2) Grade 1 for the Modern Apprenticeship and varying grades for the Craft Apprenticeships depending on the Option followed. Please see pay information detailed in Question 4 response.

Completion – 100% rate

 

OPTION 2 - Grade 5 for Apprentice Mechanics only

Increments will be payable annually from *** as per details below:

Year 2 – 2nd point of grade at 70% rate

Year 3 – 3rd point of grade at 80% rate

Year 4 – 3rd point of grade at 85% rate

Completion – 100% rate
