FOI Request Council Housing List

Request 101001638605

I would like to know the following:
1 - The number of British applicants on the housing list in comparison to those that are foreign nationals?
2 - The number of people who, in the last financial year, declared themselves homeless after being on the normal waiting list for a period of time.
3 - The number of houses that have been let (16/17) to single parent families. And those that have been let to dual parent families.
4 - The number of current, unoccupied council houses in Lossiemouth and Elgin.
5 - The average length of time a person stays on the waiting list whilst in overcrowded accommodation?

6 - The weighting mental health illnesses are given in comparison to physical illnesses?
7 - The number of houses that have been let to those deemed "homeless" versus those on the normal waiting list.

Response 10-11-2017

1) Ethnicity of housing list as at 01/04/2016 attached HERE

2) We had 578 homeless applications registered from 01/04/2017 0 31/03/2017

Of those 134 had an open waiting list application for more than 60 days before the homeless application was received.

I have provided the outcomes for your info:

5) We operate a points based Allocations Policy.  It is published on our website and is available here

http://www.moray.gov.uk/moray_standard/page_40839.html

Points are awarded based on an applicant’s circumstances.  The total number of points determines the applicant’s position on the housing list at any given time.  The Allocations Policy does not award any points associated with length of time on the list.  An applicant’s circumstances may worsen or improve during the life of their housing application.  This means their total number of points may be reassessed.  Therefore an applicant’s position on the list may change frequently.

For this reason, we are unable to provide an answer to this question.

6) An applicant can apply for a Housing Functional Assessment if their current circumstances are not suitable due to a health condition and/or disability.  The assessment focuses on a person’s ability or inability to carry out essential day to day tasks within their home and not based on a medical condition.
