FOI Request ADHD in Schools

Request 101001667812

I am looking for the following information:
1. Any documents, policies or other information regarding the screening and identification of ADHD in schools

Response 12-12-2017

We have a staged intervention process which is a pathway to identifying pupil needs and agreeing strategies and support

This applies to identification of any pupil needs

If someone ( Parent , Teacher, Pupil ) indicates that they have a concern about progress or behaviours consistent with difficulties relating to ADHD then information gathering would be the first stage. Strategies and supports will be identified and put in place with review planned – if a referral to seek a diagnosis is an outcome then this would be through the child planning process and agreed at the meeting

The diagnosis of ADHD is a medical one and while teachers and parents can contribute information, the diagnosis sits within Health services and usually with Clinical Psychology.
