FOI Request Electricity Costs

Request 101001680339

What is the cost to the council for the electricity to run the Christmas lights within Elgin  and the Moray communities for the past 3 years? (Broken down by year)

Response 08-12-2017

There is no electricity costs to the council for the community Christmas Lights. Each town pays for the electricity themselves through local funding.  Each community council or association returns a form that tells us how much load in watts that their Christmas lights will use, which we then submit to our energy supplier and they produce a bill for each group. We then send this to them for payment.
