Please send me:

•How much was spent in each of the last three years on cleaning up litter.
•How much was spent in each of the last three years on employing staff to pick up litter.

1. The yearly budget for cleaning up litter/street sweeping is £823,000. This is inclusive of wages to litter squads, street sweepers and crews, vehicle maintenance and fuel, collection costs of waste.

2. Moray Council currently has 2 dedicated litter picking teams comprising of 2 drivers/pickers and 2 pickers. The drivers are a grade 3 on the pay scale (£17,492), the pickers a grade 2 (15,984).They are employed 5 days a week, from 07:30 until 15:30, and cover the whole of the County. These teams are frequently boosted by additional manpower, when available.
