What policies or procedures does the Local Authority have in place to ensure parents are informed on the risks of cannabis so that they can better safeguard their children?

In accordance with Secion 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 we can advise that no specific policy is held. The Council does, however, have various services and partnerships that cover this area which are detailed below.

Moray has an Alcohol and Drugs Partnership which includes members from Health Improvement.

Health Improvement, both as part of the MADP, and within their own work areas provide  a range of information for the public, which includes advice on drug and alcohol use. This includes working with the Locality Management Groups and other partners.

TSi through their participatory budget programme and the LMG have worked with community groups, which have included projects relating to young people and alcohol/drug use e.g. Keith Grammar, Buckie High School, Milnes High School. 

All schools follow Curriculum for Excellence which includes areas relating to healthy lifestyles, of which alcohol and drugs are part.
