Non Domestic Rates - Empty Property Relief
There is an entitlement to Empty Property Relief if a property is vacant and unfurnished. For the purposes of clarity, an unfurnished property is one which has been cleared of all moveable goods.
If you qualify for an award of Empty Property Relief, you will receive 50% relief from the date on which the property became vacant, on the net amount of rates payable for a three month period, followed by 10% relief while the property remains vacant. It should be noted that only one period of 50% relief may be granted in any vacant period.
