FOI Request - Provision of Goods and Services
1. Since 1st May 2020, how many contracts for the provision of goods and services has the council signed, and how many of these were with suppliers based within the local authority boundaries?
2. In total, how many contracts for the provision of goods and services does the council currently have underway, and how many of these are with suppliers based within the local authority boundaries?
1. Procurement activity has been limited during the COVID lockdown due to the uncertainty around the market's ability to respond to any competition. A total of 8 new contracts were awarded during this period, none of which were to suppliers based within our boundaries.
2. Our contract register is published on the Council's website here, which gives the complete picture of all Council contracts. However this does not record supplier location. In accordance with section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 please be advised that we do not record locality on contracts but we do for supplier spend, this data is held by a national supplier database which provides us with the % of supplier spend in our area. For 18/19 this was 23.91%.
