Local Heritage Services

The Local Heritage Service for Moray offers a fascinating insight to Moray's history and to ancestry searches.

The service is based within Elgin Library, Cooper Park, Elgin, IV30 1HS.

Photocopier, free internet access and microfilm printer services are also available and a search service can be provided.

All libraries have local history books for borrowing and a file of local historical information for reference.

Buckie, Forres and Keith libraries have copies of local newspapers, parish and census records, collections of maps and a small collection of photographs.

Copy Birth/Marriage/Death Certificates

Applications and searches for a copy of a birth, marriage or death certificate can be obtained from Elgin Registration Office
