Response 16-15-2025

1. Yes, Ness Energy from Waste Facility in Aberdeen.

2. 12th December 2023.

3. 11th December 2043.

4 and 5. Total contract award value was £364 million.  This included the construction of the facility.  Construction value £150 million.  See contract award notice here: https://www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk/search/show/search_view.aspx?ID=NOV399697

6. We have only been sending waste to Ness EFW since 2023. We are unable to provide an accurate response to this question. No separately collected recyclables were intentionally sent to EFW, however, there is of course an element of recyclable materials within the residual waste that householders have not separated for recycling but we cannot provide a % figure for that. Information that is not held falls under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - Information not held. In Moray we have a published recycling performance rate of 55.2% of all waste handled in 2023.
