The Moray Council does not insure your furniture, belongings or decorations against theft, fire (This link opens in a new window) vandalism and burst pipes.
You need to take out your own household insurance either under a special scheme arranged by Aon, through Norwich Union or by making your own arrangements.
This scheme is open to all Moray Council tenants who have Scottish Secure or Short Scottish Secure tenancies.
For full details of the Tenants Insurance Scheme click here and here. ( PDF format, 13 pages, 181 KB)(This link opens in a new window). If you are interested please contact the Housing Admin Finance team for confirmation of the cost for your property. You can choose a sum insured for between (£6,000 (for people over 60 only), or £9,000 (for all other tenants) and the highest sum insured of £25,000. All quotes are subject to your application being accepted.

We urge all tenants to take out household insurance either through our special scheme or by making your own arrangements
