Roads Maintenance is responsible for all aspects of maintenance on statutory public roads, footways and verges including street
lighting and the provision of a winter service. Roads Maintenance also carry out maintenance works on Council car parks, bridges
and other structures and Council owned harbours as well as the provision of dredging these harbours.
The Moray Council Roads Maintenance have responsibility for approximately one thousand miles of road, four hundred and fifty
miles of footpaths, four hundred and sixty-eight bridges, sixteen thousand street lights and ten thousand five hundred road
signs. This is maintained by a technical and administrative staff of twenty-five and a manual workforce of seventy-seven supplemented
by contractors as necessary.
