The Corporate Policy Unit currently has eighteen staff who undertake a variety of corporate projects as instructed by the Chief Executive. The Unit undertakes a number of projects throughout the year, which fall into seven broad areas. These areas are :
Within each of these areas there are a number of projects and initiatives. Some of the projects are large projects in themselves while others are carried out on an ongoing basis on behalf of the Council.
Most of the projects involve working across departments, in working groups and with partners. The Unit also has regular contact with the elected members and the Council's Corporate Management Team.
All posts assist in the delivery of expanding the Modernising Government Agenda.
The Corporate Policy Unit plays an active part in the overall running of the Council's corporate approach to the delivery
of Council services, helping to ensure through the Chief Executive, efficient implementation and monitoring of the Council's
policies and programmes.
