Volunteers can become involved in many aspects of the service.  Typical tasks in the Local Heritage Service at old East End School can include indexing local heritage materials including photographs, newspapers and gravestones inscriptions.

At local libraries volunteers might visit housebound readers or take children's storytimes or assist with user surveys.
