General Information
The Children and Families Division of the Community Services Department of the Moray Council provides a variety of services aimed at:
'protecting and promoting the welfare of children and young people in need in Moray in partnership with themselves, their families, communities and others providing services.'
This partnership ethos is apparent in assessing and addressing individual needs and integrating our work with education, health, housing, police, community care, voluntary sector and other parties.
The Division's services provide support to children, young people, their parents and carers, child protection, youth justice, fostering, thoughcare and aftercare and adoption. The Council has contracted with NCH (Scotland) and Aberlour Trust to provide residential care to children and young people on its behalf.
The division is a key participant in the Children and Young People's Partnership that has responsibility for delivering the Investing in Children and Young People' theme of the Moray Community Planning Partnership.
If you require advice or support regarding a social work matter including any concerns about the care, welfare or protection of children, please contact your local Social Work Team or Out of Hours Services 08457 565656.
