Wind Energy Guidelines
The Moray Council has published Wind Energy Policy Guidelines in accordance with National Planning Policy Guidance. The Guidance identifies preferred search areas within which wind farm developments may be suitable subject to the detailed criteria set out in the Guidance and the policies of the Moray Development Plan. In response to the growing number of planning application for smaller scale turbines, in small groups or individuals, the Council approved a policy interpretation note regarding how it will deal with applications out with Preferred Search Areas, and for developments of up to 3 turbines.
Supplementary Guidance – Separation Distances (120kb)
The Council has adopted supplementary guidance on separation distances between turbines and residential properties of 10 x rotor diameter.
