25 primary schools entered 43 teams of Primary 6 and 7 pupils in the Libraries' Inter School Book Quiz. Initial heats took place in Buckie, Elgin, Forres, Keith and Lossiemouth with the winners going through to compete in the Grand Final.

This year's finalists from Anderson's, Cullen, Hopeman, Newmill and West End Primary Schools answered questions on children's writers, stories and general knowledge. The round of questions about the Museum objects was particular fun!

The pupils from West End Primary each won a book together with an encyclopaedia for their school. They were also presented with the Inter School Book Quiz shield which they will keep until the next contest.

No one went away empty handed as all the finalists received individual prizes and a certificate in recognition of their efforts. The prizes were generously donated by Askews Library Services and Elliott Office Equipment and were presented by Councillor Jeff Hamilton.
