How can I dispose of commercial clinical waste?

This would have be collected by a private contract, which is not a service provided by us

Do any of my commercial rates payments cover the collection and disposal costs of my waste?

No. Currently, commercial rates payable to the local authority do not include payment for trade waste collection and disposal.

How can I dispose of trade waste?

Subject to completion of a Trade Waste Agreement the Authority will empty the bins which have been provided. This will be on a minimum twice weekly basis with options for various sizes of container and will be subject to pretreatment requirements i.e. compulsory segregation of recyclable materials.

How can I find out what day/date my commercial glass collection is on?

The residual waste and glass collections are scheduled for set routes, please contact 01343 557045 for further information.

How do I start a glass collection for my business, or receive additional bins?

This will mean a change in any existing Trade Waste Agreement please contact 01343 557045 to arrange the necessary changes.

Is the council the only provider of trade waste services?

No, other companies currently offer a service in the area. Details of these can be found in the yellow pages.

The glass bins at my business premises have not been emptied. What should I do?

Please phone 01343 557045 and advise that it has been missed, it is possible that this may be due a vehicle breakdown, staff illness etc which could result in the route running late.

How much does it cost to dispose commercial rubbish?

Commercial premises are not permitted to dispose of commercial waste.  Businesses must make arrangements for waste collections.

How can I arrange a waste collection and disposal/recycling service for my business?

Please contact  01343 557045 to arrange a collection, the staff will take details and arrange for you to be contacted in order that we may assess your needs. Pre Treatment i.e. segregation of recyclable materials is compulsory if using The Moray Council waste disposal services.

Do you have a paper incineration service?

No, however we do offer a comprehensive paper and card recycling service for commercial properties and domestic properties. Paper and card can be disposed of at staffed Recycling Centres free of charge. This option is open to commercial ventures

Will the Council accept animal bones or animal by-products in commercial waste? 

No.  To dispose of animal bones or other animal by-products, commercial premises must go to an approved rendering or incineration plant. Tel: 01343 557045 for more information
