Agree a programme of inputs to schools by Grampian Police Schools Liaison Officer and Community Beat Officers

31/03/2011

Quarter 4 update:
We have a well-established programme (although not standardised) of educational inputs covering many areas of citizenship, safety, health and well being, responsibility, diversity and harmony and consequences. The structure is currently such that the police are 'invited' into schools by the respective head teacher. A discussion takes place and a program is agreed for many months in advance, which sometimes gets tailored near the event based on current intelligence, should a specific youth related problem, in a specific area be identified.

There is ongoing development on all programmes taking account of recent research and to address the implementation of Curriculum for Excellence. We are beginning work on establishing a standardised programme of drugs education, which will be directly influenced by the outcome of the current national review of drugs education.
