General Information

Do you want to ask us a question about one of our museums, or some aspect of Moray's heritage? Maybe you would like to find out more about a historical artefact that you own, or perhaps you are interested in how we collect items for the museums.

We shall always do our best to try to answer your enquiries.

You might find it useful to visit our page of Frequently Asked Questions first. If you cannot find an answer there, please contact us by phone or email, or make an appointment to come and see us in person.

How much will it cost?

We answer simple enquiries, taking less than twenty minutes, free of charge. For complex enquiries, when it will take longer than twenty minutes to provide all the information that you might need, we have a Scale of Charges We shall always contact you to explain the situation before carrying out any chargeable work.

How we respond

We shall always send you an acknowledgement as soon as we receive your enquiry. We shall then provide a full answer as quickly as possible after that. If you have contacted us by email or from the Internet, we shall normally reply by E-mail. Please tell us if you would like to arrange an alternative method of reply, such as making an appointment to come and see us.

Please remember that it can sometimes take a few days to provide answers to enquiries, and that our staff are not normally available at weekends or on public holidays.
