Home Buddy – ref KE11 (reopened 22/3/17)

When – 1 hour once a week (Thursday or Friday)                                                                                                     
Role – To visit with gentleman in his own home
Tasks – To visit with gentleman at home and provide social contact. To build confidence and alleviate loneliness. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Social Buddy – ref KE26 (24/3/17)

When – 2 - 3 hours once a week                                                                                                     
Role – To support gentleman to explore social/business opportunities
Tasks – To visit with gentleman at home and support to explore different local groups that may be of interest to him.  To assist him to develop a business idea by sourcing a business course and support him to attend. To provide social contact and promote independence.  Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties (wheelchair user) desirable but not essential. Training provided. Also an awareness of cerebral palsy and a mild learning disability. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Social Buddy – ref KE27 (reopened 10/3/16)

When – 2 hrs once a week                                                                                                      
Role – To visit with gentleman in care home
Tasks – To visit with gentleman, providing social contact and conversation. To accompany him out in his local community to library or short walk pushing wheelchair. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of difficulties experienced by people with dementia and mobility difficulties desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Home/Social Buddy – ref KE48 (2/7/15)

When – 2 hours a week                                                                                                      
Role – To visit with gentleman in his own home   
Tasks – To visit with gentleman in his own home, providing conversation and companionship. To go out for a drive. To help reduce isolation. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties and dementia desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Activities Buddy – ref KE62 (1/7/16)

When – 3 hours once a week                                                                                                    
Role – To support gentleman to go out  
Tasks – To support gentleman on trips for outdoor activities such as looking at wildlife, birds and gardening. To provide social contact and promote confidence to attend activities on his own. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend Adult Protection training and reviews.
Skills required – Awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with a mobility difficulties (wheelchair user) desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Alarm Responder x 2– ref HUN03 (17/10/16)

When – as required, emergency situations only
Role – Community Alarm responder for female – must live within 30 minutes travel time (car driver essential)  
Tasks – call and check well being of person who has activated alarm.  Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – Understanding, calm in difficult situations, level headed, Standard Disclosure check required, paid for by Moray Council

Gardening Buddy – ref KE70 (3/7/17)

When – 2 hours once a week                                                                                                           
Role – To support gentleman to maintain his garden  
Tasks – To visit with gentleman and help him to maintain his garden.  To provide social contact and alleviate loneliness. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of difficulties experienced by people with poor short term memory desirable but not essential. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Home Buddy – ref KE71 (27/7/17)

When – 2 hours once a week                                                                                                          
Role – To support lady in social conversation  
Tasks – To visit lady in her own home for chat and cuppa. To provide company and social interaction and promote well being. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties and speech impairment desirable but not essential. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

When – 1 - 2 hours once a week                                                                                                          
Role – To visit with lady at home  
Tasks – To visit with lady at home for coffee and chat.  To provide social contact and alleviate loneliness Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
