All of our volunteering opportunities require either a PVG (Buddies and Day Services) or Standard Disclosure (Alarm Responders) which will be paid for by Moray Council.  We also require volunteers to be reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, able to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  Training is available including Adult Protection.

Alarm Responder x 1 ref DU33 (reopened 20/3/23)

When – as required, emergency situations only
Role – Community Alarm responder/keyholder for a male – must live within 30 minutes travel time   
Tasks – call and check well being of person who has activated alarm
Skills required – Understanding, calm in difficult situations, level headed

Alarm Responder x 1 ref DU41 (2/3/22)

When – as required, emergency situations only
Role – Community Alarm responder/keyholder for a female – must live within 30 minutes travel time   
Tasks – call and check well being of person who has activated alarm.  
Skills required – Understanding, calm in difficult situations, level headed

Social Buddy – ref DU42 (4/10/22)

When – 2 hours once a week               
Role – To visit with lady and support to go out in the community  
Tasks – To visit with lady and support to go out in the community for shopping and for coffee, providing social contact         
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties and a visual impairment desirable but not essential

Telephone Buddy – ref DU43 (16/5/23)

When – 30 mins once a week        
Role – To make phone calls to a gentleman  
Tasks – To phone gentleman and check on his welfare relieving isolation            
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties and visual impairment desirable but not essential

Home Buddy – ref TO11 (27/7/23)

When – 2 hours once a week             
Role – To visit with gentleman in his own home for coffee and chat
Tasks – To visit with gentleman at home for coffee and chat. To provide social contact and reduce loneliness.
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with dementia and mobility difficulties desirable but not essential
