What does the Child Protection Advocacy Service do?

The Child Protection Advocacy Worker can:-

  • Prepare and support children and young people to express their views at child protection case conferences and associated meetings.

Who can use the Child Protection Advocacy Service?

Any child or young person aged 7 – 16 years whose names are or are about to be placed on the Child Protection register.  NB Under exceptional circumstances, children under 7 who are deemed mature enough to understand the process can also receive support from the worker.

How to make a referral

To make a referral, professionals can return Child’s Plan Part 1 and 2 as appropriate.  A referral form is also available from CHILDREN 1ST for families who wish to make a self referral.
