Response 12-02-2013

We do not keep documentation specific to the inspection, maintenance and repair of primary school playgrounds.

The inspection and maintenance of playgrounds falls within the job description of janitorial staff and visual inspections are undertaken on a daily basis.  Any urgent action/maintenance (eg removal of sharp objects) is undertaken immediately and children’s access is restricted until the area is deemed safe.

Any longer term maintenance/repair issues are reported to the property services help desk where contractors are engaged to undertake the necessary repairs.  Again children’s access is restricted as necessary.

Concerns raised by other people would be treated in the same manner as that described above.

A work order was issued through the Property Services helpdesk on the 13/11/12 to George Innes Builders to repair a hole in the playground
